Luna is a 1 year old white boxer/American bulldog mix female. GREAT with other dogs, kids, people, you name it. Luna has so much love to give. She will love, kiss, and hug you endlessly. This baby loves car rides and letting her jowls flap in the wind, water, playing, and cuddling. She really doesnt know the meaning of personal space! Luna is also a dancing expert and will gleefully salsa with you!
Luna’s story is one of great sorrow. . Luna was found when she was about 3 months old tied up to a tree in Prospect Park with a sign that said- “Take her. I cannot provide for her”. The man that found her, saw dollar signs when he found her. So she moved into his mechanic garage. There, she endured cycles of neglect, no training, and life in a crate. If she had an accident in the garage, she was kicked and hit. There was a male staffie living in the garage too; and, they became great friends. Then one day, the mechanics came to find them ‘attached’. Cha Ching. All everyone could talk about was who would get what puppy. When we met Luna, she was well over due in her pregnancy (by about 2 weeks), hadn’t consumed food or water in 4 days, and absolutely miserable. We immediately offered to help him and made an appointment at our fantastic family at Faithful Friends Animal Hospital. She was seen first thing in the morning, and determined that she must go into emergency surgery. Now, on her 5th day of refusing food and water, she also entered a 3rd day of green discharge. Luna went into emergency surgery to spay and try to save the puppies, and our worst fears were confirmed- the puppies were not alive. Luna’s uterus was twisted and knotted within her.
Now, Luna has recovered. THROUGHOUT the entire ordeal, Luna was patient, loving, and beautiful. At the vet, her green eyes ached in pain and sorrow; yet, she trusted us. She knew she is now forever unconditionally loved. Once Luna was fixed and puppyless, the mechanics do not want her anymore- not that we wanted her to return there anyway. So she is now in our care.
