A Message from SUFP founder, Rebecca Corry:
First, I hope this finds each and every one of you safe and healthy. These are strange and crazy times for all of us.
I’m saddened to say the New York Stand Up For Pits scheduled for April 26th has been cancelled. While saving the lives of our inherently good dogs is vital, desperately needed and important, so are you. We are no good to the dogs who need us if we are not well. The venue is closed until it’s safe to reopen. This is deeply disappointing BUT we WILL be rescheduling for a later date this year! Once we have a new date, we will announce it on all our social media platforms and website. New Yorkers are amazing as is Gotham Comedy Club and the city of New York. I promise you, the moment it is safe to do Stand Up For Pits in New York City, we will all be gathering together and do exactly that.
The venue is kind enough to offer you all the choice of a full refund or for your ticket to be used as a donation to the SUFP Foundation.
Please email Andrew at [email protected] and let him know what you prefer and he will take care of you.
In the meantime, please take great care of yourselves and keep an eye out for the new date.
I’m sending you and your hippos all the love and well wishes I’ve got and look forward to seeing you at what will be an amazing show later this year for our inherently good dogs.
Regardless of what’s happening, the Stand Up For Pits Foundation will continue it’s desperately needed life saving work. Dogs don’t stop needing help because a pandemic is happening. In fact, they need us more. Please continue to support whenever and however you can by donating, fostering, networking dogs in need, educating, advocating and adopting. Lives are depending on it. The SUFP Foundation relies on our events in order to do the work we do. Stand Up For Pits events is where the majority of our funds come. This is a major set back for SUFP but make no mistake, I’m not shutting down now or ever and will never stop fighting for and saving these dogs.
Hang in there humans, these dogs need us.

We are very excited for our THIRD year with Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc! Last year, the event broke records in raising money and awareness for rescue and saving lives. So, mark your calendars because the donation drive will be April 25th and the Comedy show/Silent Auction is April 26th. If interested in volunteering or donating, email us for info.

The SUFP Foundation is dedicated to ending abuse, discrimination and saving the lives of pitbull “type” dogs. This “type” of dog based solely on appearance is the target of extreme abuse, discriminatory bans and has been falsely vilified for over 3 decades and it must end. Stand Up For Pits events help us to educate, advocate and save lives. Pit Bull type dogs are born inherently good and deserve to be protected, respected and treated with compassion and without prejudice like all life deserves. These shows save countless lives, help shelter animals, raise national awareness for our dogs and support other pitbull “type” dog rescues around the country working hard. Twenty Paws Rescue is thrilled to be this year’s participating rescue for the THIRD year in a row! We will be bringing adoptable pibbles and benefiting from selling merchandise, accepting donations, and doing silent auctions. For tickets, go to the Stand Up For Pits Foundation website.  Please check out Twenty Paws and SUFP social media sites for details and sneak peeks at dogs and silent auction items.
