Welcome 6 year old 50lb velveteen hippo Hazel to the family. This American Bully girl joined us in October as a medical foster care dog. We pulled her from the NYACC, where she was found as a stray. Unfortunately, she was found with open wounds and abscesses on her neck and body. Due to the severity and nature of her condition, she will be with us for 6 months to recover. After this time, she will be available for adoption!
Hazel is the life of the party! Anywhere she goes, people just adore this hippo piglet. Sadly, it is clear that in her former life, she was bred and discarded. However, This girl is always smiling and ready for a great time! Hazel gets along with other dogs and LOVES people! Anyone she meets should be prepared to be captivated by her charm, snorts, and wiggles. Hazel will redefine what it means to be resilient!
When she is ready, Hazel would love a home with a yard to play in. Right now, walking for long periods of time outside is too much for her and she blisters her chunky paws. While she is regaining her health and physical wellness, we will ensure she has the best of care!
