Gia is a 5 year old 15ish lb spaniel mix that we rescued from the city shelter. Every day, Gia dreams of her furever home, where she can be her happiest self- playing with toys, chasing birds in the sky, and chewing her yak cheese treats.
Easily adaptable, Gia would be happy as an only pet or with other fursiblings. She is dog and cat friendly, or indifferent. In her foster home, Gia is unbothered by her furry foster friends. Ideally, she should be in a suburban adult home or one with older children.
Gia craves a calm lifestyle where she can go about her queenly duties of playing with toys and chewing on her bones without interruptions. On walks, Gia enters huntress mode, pinning her nose to the ground chasing the scents of the neighborhood critters. Once spotted, she will alert the neighborhood guard with vocal glee.
Smart, self aware, and sophisticated, Gia knows what she wants and will show you. She quickly learns routines and acclimates easily. True to her charm, Gia knows basic commands, is house broken, and wee wee pad trained. However, she prefers to do her business outside while searching for the birds in the sky or other critters
When it comes to bedtime, Gia prefers a soft cozy bed next to yours. However, she will let you know when she wants a snuggle session. She does not just give those precious moments away for free! Being the royal queen she is, Gia respects boundaries and asks you to respect hers. If you are starting to insult her highness, she will let you know with a subtle grumble.
With food, Gia is a little piglet and looks forward to each meal and snack!
Our poor girl was reportedly found as a stray and never reclaimed. Her humans just forgot about her, simply heartbreaking. We dont know what her former life was like, but she initially entered our rescue as a medical foster dog. After being used as a breeding dog, which was evident from her physical condition, Gia was treated for her medical issues. Now, she is healthy and put that formerly plagued life behind her.
